About Pazin
Pazin is a town known for its long and rich tradition. It is located in the very centre of the Istrian peninsula, only 30 km away from well-known tourist centers. Approximately 5.300 inhabitants live in Pazin today.
Pazin was made the administrative center of the Istria County because it is geographically located in the center of the county and it had the goal to boost the development of the interior of the peninsula. The terrain around Pazin is characterized by numerous hills and ravines, which had the affect on the traffic system, the dispersion of the settlements and their appearance. The main traffic route goes through Pazin and connects the eastern and western coasts of Istria to it.
The geographic central position in Istria affects the climatic conditions: winters are generally wet and severe, with considerable precipitation, but the summers are warm and dry.
